- Dr. Francis John Barr Tompkins (1907-1980) was an anthropologist at the University of California-Berkeley, noted for his rediscovery of the 16th-century Codex Fernandez Leal, and his studies of human sacrifice rituals. The John Barr Tompkins papers (1907-1980) includes papers and photographs. The photographs consists of two groups of images: the Cuicatec codex, and the Danza de los Voladores de Papantla group of Totonac and Olmeca in Veracruz, Mexico. English [en]
